Job Title: State Field Coordinator

The African Field Epidemiology Network-AFENET seeks the services of the following individuals

Location 
Abuja

Job Responsibilities
Assist State PHC team and polio eradication emergency center EOC in strengthening PEl coordination at the LGA level with particular attention to nomadic, scattered populations and other under-served communities. Provide support for priority states in polio eradication with a focus on:a.Micro-planning for campaigns in the high risk LGAs Strengthening surveillance in:




  • Monitoring and evaluation of supplemental immunization activities including LQAs
  • Data management and technical support for state operations centers or EOC, particularly with intra-campaign dashboard monitoring
  • Conduct operational research
  • Mentor NFELTP residents assigned to the state
  • Serve as NSTOP representative in the polio EOC, state GPEI team and partners forum in the state
  • Any other duties assigned by State team Lead, ZFC or supervisor
  • Major hospitals in urban areas of the northem states
  • Poor performing LGAs.
  • Nomad and other chronically missed communities
  • Strengthening routine infant immunization (RI)
  • Outbreak investigations for polio and other vaccine preventable diseases
Education
Advanced degree in Epidemiology, public health, health policy, Allied health, Veterinary Science, Biostatistics or other related field.
Pre-requisite: Post-graduate training through a field epidemiology training program or the Epidemic/intelligence Service EIS.
The incumbent must have Nigeria field experience in vaccine preventable disease activities.
Recent graduates of NFELTP program will be preferred.

Requirement
Language proficiency in English Knowledge of Hausa is an added advantage
Job knowledge: strong technical knowledge in public health, epidemiology, routine immunization, SIAs, disease outbreak investigation, data collection and management and data analysis.

Skills and Abilities: 

  • Ability to engage in successful interaction
  • Extensive contact with members of national and local partner organizations WHO, UNICEF, Ministries of Health
  • Skills in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Access
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate orally and in writing

Job Title: DHIS2 Implementation Officer

 
Location 
Akwa Ibom, Bauchi, Enugu, Oyo
Responsibilities


  • Develop Monthly technical report following all supportive supervision activities conducted
  • Train State and LGA RI teams on data management
  • Build capacity of state and LGA government officers to enter data. analyze and provide regular reports using DHIS2.
  • Work with SIO's, M&E officers, HMIS officers and others as indicated to analyze collected data and provide feedback to State and Local government RI teams
  • Liaise with NSTOP Data Management Team to provide regular feedback and troubleshoot problems
  • Support the implementation of the Routine Immunization NHMIS scale up plan in the states
  • Provide technical leadership to the State RI team on the use of the DHIS2 RI dashboard for data driven decision making
  • Provide menroring, support and supervision to LGA RI teams on data collection, data entry and appropriate use of RI reporting tools
Requirement


  • Possess at least 3 year experience in data management or monitoring and evaluation
  • Experience working with District Health Infonnation System 2 (DHIS2) database
  • Experience in managing routine immunization data at LGAor state level.
  • Postgraduate degree of equivalent in data management, public health, epidemiology or other health related disciplines
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Epi info and SPSS.
